Schneider National, Inc., a leader in multimodal transportation, intermodal, and logistics services, has been named a 2024 Top Company for Women to Work in Transportation by Redefining the Road, the Women in Trucking Association’s official magazine.
This milestone marks six years of Schneider being celebrated for its inclusive culture and dedication to empowering women in transportation.

The award celebrates companies that create supportive work environments, offer competitive benefits, and prioritize career development. Schneider excels by employing women in approximately 13% of driver roles—almost double the industry average—and filling 40% of leadership positions with women.
Schneider has also made strides in traditionally male-dominated fields, with a notable increase in women diesel technicians joining its maintenance shops in 2024.
“Being consistently named a Top Company for Women to Work in Transportation is a true testament to our ongoing efforts at Schneider to create a workplace where everyone can excel. Schneider has made a commitment to being a responsible company that fosters an environment where associates feel safe, supported, and empowered to share their creativity and ideas.” – Angela Fish, Schneider’s Executive Vice President of Human Resources
The honor is validated by an industry-wide vote, with more than 31,000 transportation professionals—including drivers, executives, and HR specialists—participating in the process.

Jess Martin, who joined Schneider in 2022 as a driver recruiting specialist and later transitioned to the corporate legal team as a paralegal, emphasized the company’s inclusive culture.
“This is a space where I can say what I think and feel, which is what keeps me here,” Martin shared. “It’s nice to be at a company where diversity—not just as a woman or as a person of color, but as an individual with a different experience—is welcome.”
Mildred Wells-Toney, a driver and U.S. Army National Guard service member, also praised Schneider’s culture. “I applied to Schneider Intermodal in 2017 when I wanted to improve my career prospects. I wasn’t looking for Intermodal, but I love it. Schneider has a good thing going on. I can be home every day, and I believe the safety program is good, too.”
